Dr. Nkolika Stella Chinyelu Uwaezuoke is a Chief Consultant Medical Microbiologist and Infection Prevention Practitioner at the Federal Medical Centre, Abuja, and a former Senior Lecturer in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Parasitology at Baze University, Abuja. She also serves as the Head of the hospital's Infection Control program and Coordinator of the Diagnostic and Research Molecular Laboratory at FMC Abuja.

With over nine years of consultant-level experience, Dr. Uwaezuoke has led numerous initiatives in antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention and control (IPC), and laboratory quality management. She currently chairs the Infection Prevention and Control Committee at FMC Abuja and the FCT NMA Committee on IPC.

Dr. Uwaezuoke is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians (Laboratory Medicine) and holds a Diploma in Infection Prevention and Control from the University of Lagos. She has participated in several national and international collaborative research projects, including PANORAMA, BARNARDS, and EWASH, with publications in high-impact journals such as The Lancet Infectious Diseases and Nature Microbiology.

A dedicated clinician, researcher, and educator/trainer, Dr. Nkolika Uwaezuoke continues to champion best practices in antimicrobial resistance control, stewardship, and infection prevention across Nigeria’s healthcare system.
